Partition

A 2 track experimental ep (22m 7s) — released March 18th 2013 on Jehu & Chinaman

Lutto Lento is the alter-ego of Sangoplasmo Records' Lubomir Adam Grzelak. Having started out making chopped and screwed, slowed-down R&B beats as DJ Lutto Lento his focus has shifted recently towards the creation of sound collages. Following his acclaimed Duch Gor tape, Partition consists of two long pieces, each based around the grim era of turbulence in Grzelak's home country of Poland at the end of the 18th Century. The land was forcefully divided between Russia, Prussia and Austria who worked in collaboration to overwhelm the population and claim it as their own, resulting in the elimination of Poland for 123 years until the signing of Treaty of Versailles in 1919. In the century that had passed the Polish people had been subjected to forced military service, the closure of their schools and universities and the subsequent gradual dissipation of their culture and identity.

As always our tapes have been pro-dubbed by London's Bomb Shop and all are hand-numbered at Jehu &c. HQ. Partition is limited to just 40 cassettes. The artwork was designed by Lubomir Grzelak and is printed on high quality glossy paper.

RIYL: Indignant Senility, DJ Yo-Yo Dieting, Ensemble Economique, Current 93, Burial Hex.
